Save time and money over ground-based crane solutions.
Utilizing a helicopter for HVAC installation or replacement may be the fastest, most efficient use case scenario for helicopter lifts. As more contractors are coming to realize the advantages of using a helicopter for setting HVAC units, an aerial revolution is taking place in the construction industry. With a wide range of helicopters available in the common construction lift range, including the Airbus AS-350 B3, Bell 205A-1++, Bell 407HP, and Kaman K-Max, Fair Lifts can match you with the right aircraft and, in many cases, get you a quote that is much less expensive than a traditional land-based crane. Situations that absolutely favor helicopters include tall buildings that make cranes a much more time consuming solution, unit positions that are difficult to reach with the limited boom lengths of cranes, and remote areas that cranes cannot reach without road construction or staging area reinforcement.
Helicopters can also perform lifts at a much faster pace by offering ten to fifteen lifts per hour on HVAC loads from 100 pounds up to 22,000 pounds. For commercial jobs with numerous RTU lifts, a helicopter can save contractors days or even weeks of work, making your bid far more attractive to clients than competitors that are using conventional cranes.
For any lift that can be completed by crane, we can help you quickly determine the best solution - whether helicopter or crane. Those without experience in using all different lift capacity classes of helicopter are generally surprised by how much faster, easier, and more cost-efficient helicopters can be.
Let Fair Lifts Handle Everything For You
From the moment that you choose Fair Lifts for your HVAC lift project, we go to work for you. We start by preparing and filing your FAA flight plans, organizing rigging and crew plans, mapping out potential staging areas, as well as securing the right insurance to cover the jobsite, crew, and aircraft in order to make your lift as easy and seamless as possible for you. Before the helicopter arrives at your job site, the Fair Lifts helicopter lift safety checklist will need to be implemented. This allows the work to take place with complete safety of all crew members as well as the surrounding property.
The helicopter will arrive with a load line, and Fair Lifts will arrange for a 4 point rigging with spreader frame, shackles, nylon straps, and swivel hook to be on site. We can assist with the design, fabrication and deployment of custom rigging as well if it is required. The flight crew will make suggestions for removal of problematic materials and debris. If material is left, then the flight crew may require a signature verifying assumption of financial liability for any damage or injury caused by problematic material. Once the site is ready, the work can commence with the helicopter being able to perform between 7-15+ picks per hour. This is highly dependent upon the level of preparation by the rigging crew and level of coordination by those onsite, as well as the weight and placement each load entails.
For contractors that are new to helicopter use for HVAC and adapter curb replacement, Fair Lifts is looking forward to alleviating any concerns that you might have. Our team operates across North America and can handle all of the details of the lift for you from start to finish. We will let you know everything that is needed for quick completion of your project and can even train your crew on site prior to conducting the lift.
